About the silver printing process:
Gelatin silver printing has been the primary black-and-white process since its development in the late 1880s. The gelatin layer is made up of an emulsion that consists of light-sensitive silver compounds that form the image following exposure of the negative and development in a chemical bath.
These images are a selection of photos taken during bicycle trips through northwestern Europe in the early 1980’s. Most photographs were taken with a 35mm camera on PlusX film printed on Brovira Rapid 114 paper. Some of these prints were toned with Sepia or Selenium toner.
