The platinum process is appreciated for its long delicate grey-scale. It was a popular process around 1900. At the present time it is undergoing a revival because it is possible to make large negatives on the computer and avoid the laborious undertaking of exposing film in a large view camera and developing the negative in a (wet) darkroom. Also the negative would have to be a “perfect exposure” for the process, which is an easy fix on the computer.
